The Situation

The system hands you a referral and expects you to figure out the rest.

You got a name. Maybe a specialty. Possibly a code to call.

What you did not get: which of the three cardiologists on that list is actually in your network. Whether the denial letter you received last week has any real basis. What to say in the appointment so you do not leave with the same confusion you walked in with.

This is not a failure of care. It is a gap the system was never designed to fill.

The clinical side of healthcare does its job and hands off. The administrative side processes paperwork. Nobody's job is to sit down with you, understand your full situation, research your options, organize your records, and prepare you to walk into that appointment knowing exactly what to ask.

That gap is expensive. It costs time you do not have, decisions you should not have to make alone, and, in the case of insurance denials, money that does not have to stay on the table. According to California DMHC and federal ACA external-review data, between 40 and 60 percent of external insurance-denial appeals are overturned when someone actually files them. Almost nobody does.

MYObase fills that gap.

What This Is

We do the research. You make the calls.

Care navigation at MYObase is not medical advice. It is not a concierge medical practice. We are not your healthcare providers, and we will not try to be.

We research your options, compare providers, understand your insurance situation, organize what matters, and prepare you for your appointments. We build you a roadmap. You use it to schedule, to ask the right questions, and to make your own decisions with more information than you started with.

The scope boundary is simple: we remove barriers and supply research. You schedule. You decide. You stay in control.

What we do

  • Research and compare providers in your situation
  • Identify options around referrals or transitions
  • Prepare an appointment-prep packet
  • Organize appeal and record questions
  • Build a written roadmap you can act on

What we do not do

  • Give medical advice or recommend specific treatments
  • Tell you which option is right for your situation
  • Contact providers or schedule appointments for you
  • Replace your medical team or act as one

How It Works

One session. A written roadmap. You leave with a plan.

1. The Crisis Navigation Session

A focused onboarding call, 60 to 90 minutes, where we understand your situation, your current question stack, and where the most important gaps are. We work through what you are facing and build a research scope together.

2. We do the work

After the call, we research, organize, and build. Provider comparison. Insurance review. Records summary if you share documents. An appointment-prep packet tailored to your next appointment.

3. You receive your written roadmap

Within a defined window after the session, you receive your situation summary, options landscape, what to bring, what to ask, and your next steps laid out clearly.

The guarantee: Complete your Crisis Navigation Session and receive your written initial navigation roadmap, or the session is refunded. Guaranteed deliverable. No outcome promise. Navigation is a research and preparation service. What happens in your appointments is between you and your providers.

Ongoing Navigation

Transitions do not stop. Neither does the need for a navigator.

A single session solves the immediate question. It builds your roadmap for the current situation.

But for adults in their 40s and 50s, the healthcare navigation question does not appear once. It appears when your parent gets a new diagnosis. When your own specialist recommends a procedure and you want to understand what you are agreeing to. When the annual physical flags something and you do not know how seriously to take it. When your family's coverage changes and nothing carries over cleanly.

The Body 401(k) membership includes ongoing care navigation as a standing pillar of the program. Not a separate add-on. Part of what the membership does.

Body 401(k): $2,997 per year

Ongoing navigation support through health-system transitions, a standing research-and-prep resource for appointments, referrals, and insurance questions, plus the full MYObase capacity-maintenance program. If you book a Crisis Navigation Session first, the $497 session fee credits toward your first year.

A Note on Evidence

What the research says, and what it does not

Care navigation has a 35-year evidence base. The research demonstrates that having a navigator, someone whose job is to identify barriers and facilitate access, improves appointment adherence, reduces delays between referral and care, and increases the rate of successful insurance appeals. That evidence is strongest in clinical settings and oncology populations.

For a generally healthy adult navigating a non-acute situation, the evidence is more limited. The mechanism is the same: reducing friction, improving information access, and supporting preparation leads to better use of the healthcare system. But MYObase does not represent that our navigation approach replicates clinical-setting navigation outcomes, and we do not make claims about health results.

What we offer is a research-and-preparation service. The value is the clarity and the saved time and effort, not a guaranteed outcome.
